The Everest 3 Passes Trek with Island Peak Climbing are one of our favourite treks and Peak Climbing and we’d be delighted to help you explore this incredible legion in Nepal.

Everest 3 Passes Trek with Incredible Himalayan Sherpa Adventure takes you to some of the tallest mountains in the world, Mount Everest, Gokyo valley, Cho La pass, Kongma La, Renjo La Pass. It is an incredible trek that offers it all – mountains, culture and history.

Crossing the three passes’ is not technically difficult but all these trail climb above 5000m, so acclimation is essential. The Kongma La(5535m) between Dingboche/Bire & Lobuche, the Cho La (5420m) between Dughla and Gokyo and Renjo La(5360m) between Gokyo and Thame.

The trek starts from Lukla, following the flight from Kathmandu. Like most treks in the region, Lukla serves as the gateway. We then make our way up to Namche Bazaar where we continue the Everest Three Passes Trail. Magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Themserkhu, Gangtega etc.

Incredible Himalayan Sherpa Adventure provides you with an experienced, local guide that not only leads you on the trail but introduces you to the rich Sherpa culture. This tour captures the highlights of the Khumbu region. Of course, because of the altitude and the terrain, this trek can be challenging. But the unique views and serenity next to the unspoiled lakes will be worth it.

Island Peak Climbing:

Climb Island Peak (6189m), an Everest region favorite. Located in the infamous Everest region of Nepal, climbers are well accompanied by a highly trained and experienced climbing guide. Together, a thrilling adventure awaits. Off route from the popular trek to the Everest Base Camp (EBC), Island Peak climbing can easily be added to a trek to create a more unique and unforgettable climbing experience. Island Peak is one of the most time and cost effective climbs, and is accessible from the EBC route. Rich in snow-covered, panoramic views, and Himalayan sherpa culture and traditions, previous climbers might say that this is one of the greatest peak climbing expeditions Nepal has to offer.

From Island Peak the entire Khumbu Range, including Nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse Middle Peak and the unclimbed Lhotse Shar becomes visible. The Lhotse Shar Glacier, and the perfect pyramid of Mt. Makalu stand spectacular, and clear in sight. The difficulty of this climb is rated as moderate, and is mostly not a technical challenge. This is the perfect place for novice climbers to develop skills of climbing on snow and ice at high altitudes. The final few hours require some mountaineering skills, for which a highly trained and experienced guide will be available to provide any assistance, and provide any onsite training. Preparing physical and mental stamina is important with any climb, and this also applies when preparing to climb Island Peak. Himalayan high altitudes provide magnificent views and an exciting adventure.

Depending on location, accomodation is provided in the village teahouses and camping. This “short and sweet” climb begins at the Island Peak Base Camp (5100m). Island Peak is mostly a non-technical climb, so it is suitable for climbers of any level, and is very valuable climbing experience gained for novice climbers. The Himalayan Sherpa culture, forests of rhododendron, and striking views the southwest face of Everest, the world’s tallest mountain, are just a few highlights that make Island Peak such an unparalleled expedition. The richness of experience, and quality for cost truly makes Island Peak a special climb, and favorite of many. Those who climb Island Peak are surely able to witness the diverse beauty of Himalayan nature, and will leave with many stories to tell.

All our treks and climbing can be booked as private trips - no large, impersonal groups but small, individual experiences. Let Incredible Himalayan Sherpa Adventure take you on your very own adventure trek to Renjo La Pass, Cho La Pass , Kongma La Pass, Mount Everest Base Camp, Gokyo, Gokyo RI and Island Peak Summit.

Information

Money and Tipping

It is best to bring a mixture of cash and traveller’s checks in a major currency [some currencies are not convertible to NPR]. USD, GBP, CAD, EUR, and AUD are generally fine. Ensure you have also small denominations. As a guideline for baseline spending money we suggest USD 10 - 15 per meal in Kathmandu (if you drink or smoke or plan some major shopping this could be higher). You should exchange enough money into Nepalese Rupees to last the entire time of your trek BEFORE leaving Kathmandu. There are no exchange facilities in the villages along the trail but plenty of money changers in KTM. Tipping is, of course, voluntary but tips are not included in the trip price.

Supplementary time

The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla significantly reduces the journey time compared to the trek via Jiri (which we also offer). The flight is the shortest and most popular way of gaining access to the region but the mountain weather is notoriously unpredictable and sometimes even during the best part of the season, flights are delayed or postponed for one or more days. We can also arrange for a Helicopter charter from Kathmandu to Lukla instead but this adds significant extra cost. We highly recommend that you take potential delays into account and allow for some extra day in Kathmandu. You can use your extra time here in Nepal by doing many exciting activities like rafting, jungle safari, Rock Climbing, Langtang Helicopter Tour Mountain flights or simply enjoy the bustling streets of Kathmandu.

Travelers Insurance

While you do trips through Incredible Himalayan Sherpa Adventure, you will submit copy of your insurance certificate. Your insurance policy must coverage accidents, medical expenses and emergency evacuation including helicopter rescue and then personal liability. At the time of you do Insurance you should read the policy carefully whether your requirements are included or not. Incredible Himalayan Sherpa also advocated your Insurance policy coverage cancellation curtailment, loss of luggage and personal effects. If you have must proof of the Insurance receipt, you will do initiative otherwise you can’t get any compensation.

Nepal Visas

You need visa for Nepal, which can be obtained in advance or on entry. If you wish to apply before departure the current visa cost is £20 for a 15 day visa and £35 for a 30 day visa for UK passport holders. The current cost of a visa on arrival is US$25 for 15 days, US$40 for 30 days or if extending your stay $100 for 90 days. All are multiple entry. The visa on arrival fee can be paid for in cash in US Dollars, Pounds Sterling or Euros. You will also need a passport photo. Application forms are available in the immigration hall (or for electronic passports there are visa registration machines which, after inserting your passport, automatically fill out a form for you). You must firstly join the queue to pay the visa fee, and then go to the relevant immigration desk to obtain your 15, 30 or 90 day visa stamp. There can be long queues for visas on arrival.
